I'm passionate about working with people, understanding their problems and needs and working together with people to design solutions.
I have worked in software sales, customer service, developing business channels in the UK and internationally and run an E-commerce and wholesale business as an illustrator and homeware designer for 8 years. I have extensive experience of working with stakeholders, understanding their needs, identifying business opportunities, designing a business service and ensuring products are developed in line with user needs and business objectives.
Whilst running my homeware business I led community engagement projects designing murals and works of art with Noma and the Portico library. I also have facilitation experience running creative sessions with young people at a LGBT+ youth centre and working with children at schools.
My Story
Have I mentioned I have cats yet? I've waited long enough to let you know I've two adorable cats (Eli and Esme). They mostly snuggle up and demand food all day.
I grew up in Kenya, my family are originally from India and I currently live in sunny Manchester. This cultural mix has bizarrely led to the development of an American accent. I can't explain it, and am still awaiting a plausible explanation.
I'm a board game geek which I balance out with playing hockey. My mum is a brilliant cook and instilled a love for great food in me. I appear to have extensive knowledge of the best pizza venues in Manchester and am currently compiling a list of the best desserts in the city.
Having developed a love for doodling at a very young age, I've fulfilled a childhood ambition to draw on walls and Manchester has been plastered with a number of my murals. The most recent being a very colourful skyline on Tariff Street in the Northern Quarter.
